The New Gift Card Law & Consumer Protections

     As of August 22, 2010, the CARD ACT (credit card reform act) passed by Congress took effect for all gift cards issued as of that date.  Substantial consumer protections were part of the reforms imposed on the gift card issuers.  The following article published by the Federal Reserve outlines the changes for consumers and issuers.
